  1.     Showbm is a simple to use file viewer for windows picture files.
  2. It will display .bmp, .rle, .ico  files. It can be used in association 
  3. with these extentions in file manager or used normaly from a program 
  4. manager icon (or from any other shell, command line or otherwise). 
  5. It is faster and more convienient than the paintbrush when you only want 
  6. to look at the picture instead of edit it.

  8.     Installation is very simple.
  9.  
  10.     1) unzip showbm.zip in the directory of your choice (since you are
  11.     reading this you probably have already done this)
  12.     
  13.     2) copy cmdialog.vbx to either to your windows/system
  14.     directory, or to the directory you are going to keep showbm.exe in.
  15.  
  16.     3) copy showbm.exe to the directory of your choice.
  17.  
  18.     4) do what ever you want with showbm.doc and this read.me file.
  19.        (the dir with showbm.exe might be good)
  20.     
  21.     5) make a program manager icon for showbm.exe if desired.
  22.         (To do this open program manager,open the group you want showbm
  23.         in,  click file, then new, then ok for new item (not new group),
  24.         type in Showbm or Show Bitmap or something as a description,
  25.         then type the path and file name to showbm.exe as the
  26.         commandline, make the working directory the directory you store
  27.         all your bitmaps in if you have one (skip this if you don't) and
  28.         click ok.)

  30.     6) read the showmb.doc file 
  31.     
  32.     7)  Follow the instructions in showbm.doc to associate showbm with
  33.     the desired file extentions if desired.

  35.     8) run the program, decide you like it, and register. (It's only a buck!!)
